I went to Eastern for a couple of years and managed some of the local theaters (Fox / Babcock, World and eventually Rimrock 4). I then sold stereo equipment at Sound World (Rimrock Mall) for three years (yes - a "Stereo Salesman").
I decided to join the Navy in 1979 and was eventually promoted to a Fire Control Chief. They paid me to get out in 1993. Loved it! I would have stayed for thirty but had started a new family and did not want to leave them for extended periods.
After the Navy, I relocated from Chicago to Spokane WA, where I worked for Hewlett-Packard, then Itronix Corp (where I eventually moved into Human Resources). Itronix was purchased by General Dynamics and four years later, in 2009, they closed the doors on 350 employees. Sometimes one door shuts and another opens.
I went back into the Navy as a civilian (back to Chicago) and worked in HR. I transferred to Seattle (Port Orchard, WA) area in 2013 and have since retired (2021). We love it over here.
I found the love of my life in 2000, although I didn't know it at the time, (met when we shared an office, played on the same bowling team, I was videographer at her wedding, etc.) - but we remained friends all those years. One thing led to another, and we were married in 2014.
I'm Currently perfecting my skills as a "House Husband" and playing Tennis and Golf.
....traveling when she takes a vacation.
Grandchildren are in CA and we can't talk them into moving up here so we will probably be "Snowbirds" and spend winters in CA.
